CIRCULAR SYSTEMS_ New building for pro mente work at Wienerstraße 317, Linz

The new pro mente Arbeit building at Wienerstraße 317 in Linz was designed by KunstRaum in the entrance area, stairwell, dining room, and seminar area. The concept and ideas behind the artworks were based on the theme of work as a phenomenon of cycles, development, and movement. In the execution, particular emphasis was placed on craftsmanship, or rather, on forms created by hand.

Work – the services offered by pro mente Upper Austria, Department of Work, at the new premises at Wienerstraße 317, revolve around work and mental health. Counseling supports individuals experiencing mental health challenges in their job search and with workplace issues. Training programs assist with vocational rehabilitation, allow participants to test their work capacity, and provide support on their path back to employment.

The on-site restaurant, “Über’n Tellerrand,” also offers lunch and catering services. Seminar rooms are also available for rent at the new location at Wienerstraße 317. For more information, please call 0732 77 31 22 – 221.

Mag. FH Roland Palmetshofer, Head of Business Unit, on the unique features of this location and the artistic design of the KunstRaum Goethestrasse xtd in the new premises: “We are delighted with the successful design of the circulation systems in the new building. The pictures and installations enliven our daily work and are very inviting to clients and guests. You can simply feel that the pictures and motifs are not only exciting, fitting, and beautiful, but were also designed, shaped, and installed with great love and dedication by the colleagues at KunstRaum Goethestrasse xtd.”

The individual objects consist of numerous components made of relatively simple materials, which were cast, dyed, painted, and assembled.

Entrance area:

A plaster relief depicts a Ferris wheel, composed of small cast hemispheres in shades of white, brick red, and gray. Some of the material used is pulverized rubble from the “old” building at Wienerstraße 317.

Stairwell:

The space in the stairwell is filled by a three-dimensional wooden object. A multi-part mobile of a cloud, made of numerous wooden blocks in four colors, is perceived as a unified whole.

On the wall of the stairwell landing, a multitude of almost transparent pieces of foil are visible. Their arrangement creates the impression of movement, as if the wind were flowing through the stairwell.

In the restaurant/dining room: A tiled wall with hand-drawn motifs, arranged ornamentally, can be seen.

Seminar area: In the foyer of the seminar rooms, there is a wall design made of different colored wooden elements that depict graphics of animal migrations.
