DOES THE CAT UNDERSTAND ME? and STRONG CATS

In February, our workshop series “Paper – Analog Meets Digital” explored the connection between paper as a material and digital storytelling.

Guided by the year’s theme, “WOW! The World Is Changing,” and the initial focus on empathy, we captured themes we associate with empathy using abstract and concrete visual language. This process raised many questions—both concrete and abstract:

“Can you have empathy with washing machines?”, “Do I have empathy for all living beings?”, or “Is empathy only the feeling itself, or also the action that follows?”

The result was a series of short videos that outline empathy from many perspectives: encounters, security, human-technology relationships, abandonment, inclusion, food, and love for animals.
