The concept and inspiration of the “Summer Academy” were adopted to further develop a new format of artistic and creative offerings at KunstRaum Goethestrasse xtd. The guiding principle was to provide a concentrated and comprehensive range of offerings beyond a single workshop, enabling intermediate steps and opening up possibilities for further exploration. For the collaboration with clients of pro mente Plus, the aim was to offer “freedom of choice,” as reflected in the Summer Academy’s title. A key objective was to achieve a tangible result at the end of the program, a product that could be used in everyday life.

Participants from pro mente Plus were invited to discover and experiment with various artistic and creative techniques. Workshops were offered over a four-week period. These workshops offered diverse approaches and formats, and participants worked together on the theme “I am within, not without.” Spaces were created for individuals and groups that allowed them to experiment, develop a self-image, and reflect within the context of a community. The challenge was to take action, tackle unusual tasks, and push boundaries. The result was a collection of personalized ringtones for mobile phones and individually designed artwork applied to T-shirts, caps, and bags.
