SLACK FIELDS MICHAEL GOLDGRUBER

Exhibition opening: Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 7.00 p.m.

Exhibition Duration: 9/25 – 10/9/2019.

Michael Goldgruber is in his artistic work by means of photography, filmic works, video and sound installations on the trail of the domestication and appropriation of nature and the medialization of landscape perception, especially since he understands the depiction of landscapes as a historical and political act.

For more than ten years, his photographic and filmic work has focused on the glacier regions and high alpine topographies visually and factually affected by climate change and other ecological transition processes.

In the showroom of KunstRaum Goethestrasse xtd, Michael Goldgruber activates the motif fund of his excursions into the alpine topographies with variations of the landscape tableau as well as with panoramic, installative works, choreographed with photographic stagings and filmic works.

SLACK FIEDLS is part of the multi-year project WHITEOUT. Alpine Topographies in the Age of Glacial and Permafrost Melt and Global Ecological Paradigm Shifts.
